A seafood lunch on the island – either on the islands of Pamilacan or Balicasag, depending on the time you want to eat – will be one of your unforgettable experiences when you visit Bohol.

A sumptuous seafood lunch on the island will not only nourish you physically but it will also give you a time to meet the locals, who cooked the food and a time to laugh and cheer with your friends or family.

If you are planning to visit the islands of Balicasag or Pamilacan, be sure to start your voyage early in the morning so you will be able to pass by some dolphins or even the friendly whale sharks. We call this as the island-hopping tour but many attractions are included in this package, such as snorkeling, village tour, seafood lunch and driving a banca.

The seafood lunch will surely make you crave for more seafood when you return to your home. The cooking of the food is unlike any other. The locals used their own organically grown herbs and spices to make the fishes, shrimps and crabs taste good. Some tourists who are not used to eating seafood or are allergic, they can also choose to order pork meat but sometimes there’s no stock in the island so guests need to inform the locals ahead so they can go to mainland Bohol to buy there.

If you are planning to visit Bohol soon, do not hesitate to contact Green Earth Tours and Travel for safety and convenience. We are a Department of Tourism-approved tour operator so you will surely enjoy a hassle-free adventure.
Swimming and snorkeling are usually part of a cheap Bohol tour package. It is included in the second day of a standard 3D2N (three days, two nights) travel package. Early in the morning on the second day, the boat operator will go to your hotel to fetch you, so you can watch the dolphins and whale sharks at around 7 o’clock in the morning in the waters near Pamilacan or Balicasag Islands. After half an hour, the dolphins will no longer jump out of the water because of the heat of the atmosphere. This is the time the boatmen will bring their guest to the nearby Balicasag Island. Known for its diverse aquatic resources and laid-back village, Balicasag Island is one of the highly visited small islands in the Philippines because it offers an awe-inspiring corals and fishes. Snorkeling while swimming is the best activity here and there are swimming gadgets that the guest can rent for P150 to P300.

Swimming and snorkeling can also be enjoyed in the white-sand beaches of Panglao islands. Alona beach is one of the most popular in the island because of its Boracay-like hotels, restaurants and bars. Swimming and snorkeling in the waters near Panglao may be boring once you experience the aquatic resources of Balicasag and Pamilacan but if you like to follow small fishes and see the pristine white sand underneath the water, it will be fine for you.

If you want to go swimming and snorkeling in Bohol, do not hesitate to contact us and we will respond within 24 hours. This is part of the standard package but if you choose to make it to two days or shorten the activity to half day, we can also do that.

The Chocolate Hills is the main attraction in the island of Bohol, Philippines. It’s an unusual geological formation of at least 1,268 to about 1,776 individual hills scattered throughout the towns of Carmen, Batuan and Sagbayan. These coned-shape hills are almost symmetrical in shape and are covered in green grass that turns brown during dry season, hence the name. It pretty much appears like a row of Hershey’s chocolate kisses or peanut kisses (one of Bohol’s delicacies).

Chocolate Hills

Since the Chocolate Hills is famous attraction in the island, they are featured in the provincial flag and seal which symbolizes the abundance of natural attractions in Bohol. They have also been declared as the Philippine’s third National Geological Monument. They also purported for the inclusions in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Chocolate Hills vary in sizes from 30 to 50 meters high and the largest hill measures 120 meters high. Two of the largest hills have been developed to serve as a viewing deck. They’ve also built a restaurant, souvenir shops and comfort rooms. The view deck is situated at the apex of a 214-step hill, which enables the viewer to have a panoramic vista of the exquisite beauty of the hills.

It’s astonishing how the magical hands of nature molded these unique mound-shaped hills. Geologists are baffled on how these hills were formed. The only theory that is accepted is that these hills are the weathered formations of a marine limestone on top of an impermeable layer of clay.

Legend has it that the Chocolate Hills were formed because of two giants that are fighting. They threw sand and stones at each other, which lasted for days. They eventually got worn-out and later became friends. They left the island and forgot to clean up the mess.

Others say it’s a story of a powerful giant named Arogo who fell in love with Aloya who was a humble and simple mortal. Aloya died and Arogo was devastated and could not stop crying. When his tears dried, the hills were formed.

Whatever the reason behind the formation of the Chocolate Hills, it only convey one thing – it’s nature’s expression of beauty, mystery and romance. It’s definitely an attraction within an attraction nestled in between a twin chocolate hill. It has helped place the island of Bohol in the tourism map, thus becoming the signature tourist attraction of the island.

The Chocolate Hills is included in the itinerary when you avail of any affordable Bohol tour package. It’s incomparable and one of the country’s spectacular sceneries that you don’t want to miss out. Look for the best tour package you can get and enjoy every bit of it.

The typical itinerary for a Bohol Tour that takes you to the main tourist attractions is at the sidebar of this website. A 3D/2N package includes a Bohol Countryside Tour, Island Hoping Tour and Panglao Countryside Tour. Some tourists who visit Bohol do not have enough time to enjoy a 3D2N package because of their work or business. They go to the province on weekend and stay for only 2 days and 1 night. Other tourists, who choose to save a few bucks, decide to tailor-made a tour that only transport them to the most popular destinations such as Chocolate Hills, Tarsier in Corella and Loboc River. Another factor that makes us customized our tour is religion. Some guests opt not to visit the old Roman Catholic churches because it is not allowed in their religion but some guest who are not Roman Catholic are fine with it.

One of the things to consider if you want to have a hassle-free tour experience with your families and friends in Bohol is to avail a cheap Bohol tour package that already includes the entrance fees.

Most of the tourist attractions in Bohol have admission fees and some operators choose not to include these fees so those who are looking for an affordable package will think that they have the cheapest rates. Once the tourists discover that they need to pay the entrance fees at the tourist spots, they get frustrated but they do not have a choice because they already choose the tour operator.

Paying the Entrance Fee

Having all the entrance fees included in a tour package not only gives the clients a hassle-free tour but also give them a sense of relaxation because they no longer need to think about the additional payments.

The most expensive entrance fee of all the tourist attractions in Bohol is the Loboc River cruise. This is where the tourist eats lunch or dinner while riding a motor-powered raft along the lush greeneries of bushes and trees in the town of Loboc (or Loay).

Another inclusion that gives the tourist a hassle-free and memorable experience in Bohol is having the fuel of the transportation included in the tour package. Some operators exclude this so the clients will think that the service is low-cost but in the end they be asked to pay for the fuel consumption.

If you avail our services, all the entrance fees are included in our package. Our DOT-licensed tour guides will be the one to pay the admission fees at the counter and all you have to do is go directly to the spot. The tour guides usually get discounts because they bring guests to these attractions almost every day. If you want to find out the updated rates for regular or walk-in guests, you can ask the tour guides or the cashiers.

If you are planning a trip to Bohol, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be glad to assist you with what you need.

Souvenir shopping is one of the last stops on your first day in Bohol if you avail a cheap Bohol tour package. You will travel by air-conditioned transportation together with a DOT-licensed tour guide. There are a lot of souvenirs shops in Bohol – most of them are found near the tourist spot – but if you want a souvenir shop that has everything you need, the tour guide will bring you to the place.

Bohol Souvenir Shop

You can buy Bohol souvenirs at cheap prices. Some of the items are delicate and fragile, which needs care when handling. Some items are sturdy and you need not worry if you put it inside your backpack or luggage. These souvenir shops likewise sell delicacies of Bohol such as the Peanut Kisses and Calamay.

Souvenir items for sale inside the store includes bracelets, t-shirts, blouses, necklaces, miniature tarsiers, toys, shell products and a lot more. The wide array of souvenir items makes the shoppers or tourists take almost an hour to choose and decide which souvenir to bring home. For those who only brought a small traveling bag, they only buy smaller items such as keychains and bracelets.

Souvenir shopping is a so-so activity in some other places but in Bohol, the experience is much better because you get to lose some calorie by standing for almost an hour while choosing which item to bring home because of its affordable price and quality.

When in Bohol, never forget to bring home a souvenir.

Because river cruising is not an ordinary activity here in the Philippines or abroad. We decided to incorporate a free lunch during the river cruise in Loboc (also known as Loay) in our cheap Bohol tour packages. You have the option to choose a much cheaper tour package offered by another travel agency but you cannot experience what it feels to eat dinner or lunch during your river cruise in Loboc. Take note it is buffet style, or in the Philippines we also call it at “eat-all-you-can”.

The tourists have the option to choose if they want it at noon or at nighttime. Our recommended time of the day is the morning cruise so you clearly see the lush greeneries of bushes and trees. Nevertheless, for those who want to eat dinner and cruise at night, they can opt to do so and feel the romantic ambiance. At night, the lampposts along the way are turned on and the motor-powered raft is lighted a bit.

A tarsier is a rare creature found in the Philippine archipelago. Bohol, known for having the most number of tarsiers in the country, is now one of the highly visited provinces.

Tarsier Watching

During tarsier watching, you get to see the smallest primate in the world. Because of its size, you will say it is very cute and you just cannot resist its charm. Before, tourists were allowed to touch the nocturnal creature that possesses huge eyes. They usually put it in their heads or arms and take pictures. Now, it is different because the government no longer allows anyone to touch these tiny primates because they will be stressed. The tarsiers sleep in the morning and wakes up at night, just like an owl. Even though their eyes are open, they are sleeping during the hours that guests watch them.

The tarsiers measure about four to five inches in height and they usually cling in the branches of trees when they are asleep. Its tail is longer than its body and it has a brown colored fur. Many say this creature is just like a small monkey or a bat with no wings.

Those who are interested in tarsier watching may avail a cheap Bohol tour package. Because of the proximity of Corella (the area where these tarsiers are seen) to the other tourist attractions in Bohol Island such as Baclayon Church, Prony the Python Snake and Blood Compact Monument, the tarsier watching is more often included in a Bohol Countryside Tour.
