When you first hear the name “Bayoyoy the dwarf”, you first think that this person is part of a circus show of some sort or a TV celebrity just like Dagul, Mahal and Mura; but when you see him in person, your heart will surely melt seeing him in a stroller with limited movement and eyes closed.
Bayoyoy the dwarf is not the first of its kind in the country but at 65 years old, he is different. He lives in a small house and the one who takes care of him is his younger sister. He has brothers and sisters who suffered from dwarfism but they only lived a shorter life – it is only Bayoyoy who reached this far.
There are dwarfs out there that can perform things that an ordinary person does. Bayoyoy is different from these dwarfs because his movement is very limited and in fact, he cannot walk. Bayoyoy consumes milk, oatmeal and cereals. The only income of the family is the small sari-sari store located outside of their house. Tourists who see Bayoyoy for the first time would surely donate a small amount for the food and other needs of this uncommon human being.
